Full-Day Tour Exploring the Waters of Tolantongo

1.Full-Day Tour Exploring the Waters of Tolantongo

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,277 reviews · 14 to 16 hours (approx.) · from $134Our pick

Review of Tolantongo’s thermal pools, turquoise river, and cave waterfalls on a long but well-organized day trip from Mexico City.

“Overall Tolantongo is worth a visit but we don’t recommend Viator. It would make more sense to book a private driver and stay at the hotel at least for one night! The trip to get there is very long (min. 4h) and the van was extremely uncomfortable and not only on the bumpy roads, which was the case half of the trip! The whole trip the van shaking and we were bumping around. Our seats didn’t have any windows. We were sitting in the back and we couldn’t hear anything the guide said, even though he didn’t say much. A guide for the tour is not needed, even though our…”

We did the hidden beach and omg please do that if you have the chance too . Big advice is bring something to protect your phone from the water since there’s a lot swimming involved. Hike Puerto Vallarta’s south coast to Colomitos and Las Animas, with jungle trails, quiet beaches, optional snorkeling, and a boat ride back.

“Great trip! We took a public bus to start the trail and a boat back after the hike. Nice hike, we were treated to beautiful cliffside views. We really only had enough time to swim at the first beach. Our guide had snorkel equipment for us—there were some fish including white, striped, and rare black fish but water was a bit murky and waves were a bit rough. Wear nice hiking shoes that are sturdy although several people did the hike barefoot. We were also very surprised to see several humpback whales from shore. Cool hike, our guide Juan was funny and made everything so smooth. Recommend.”

“Overall the trip was great. Our guide Jane was very friendly, funny and very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. We seen a whale shark which was amazing then were took snorkelling to a reef and then onto Isla Mujeres for a light lunch. It is a long trip and very tiring, especially waking up sp early. Regarding sea sickness, we were given tablets by Jane and it really wasn’t bad when the boat is going full speed. You can’t wear sunscreen so will have to make plans not to be burnt but it is an amazing experience. They will also film and photograph the trip which you can buy…”

“Way too much time dedicated to shops and repeated group photos - leading to somewhat too little time at the pyramids. Why visit Tlateloco if it's just to jump out for a group photo? And the basilica can be easily reached without a tour - so consider which package/tour you buy.”

Full Day in Tequila with Tasting and party in Cantaritos

13.Full Day in Tequila with Tasting and party in Cantaritos

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 356 reviews · 10 to 11 hours (approx.)

Spend a full day exploring tequila-making, agave fields, Tequila town, a scenic swing, and the giant Cantaritos party near Guadalajara.

“This tour left us kinda disappointed. We ended up running behind schedule because the tour guide ended up spending more time at the distillery bar rather than moving on to the downtown area of Tequila which made the rest of us not have enough time to shop around the area before heading to Cantaritos. We didn’t eat until 3 Pm, and the food we had in Tequila was not the worth the money either. The only good thing was that we were able to stay longer at Cantaritos and we had our table reserved with our own waiter without having to wait in the long lines.”

Review of the Holbox day tour from Riviera Maya, with island beaches, Isla Pasión, Yalahau Cenote, lunch, boat rides, and practical tips.

“The trip is quite long with different changes in transportation, but it’s totally worth it if you have to organise the logistic by yourself instead. Guides were good but not always precise but delivering the instructions and the logistic information. It would be have been great to have a little bit more of natural and cultural background information while touring.”
